Scholarship Recipient 2006 - Sultan Khan

“In the future, I plan on becoming a teacher to meaningfully help my community. I also hope
to establish organizations to help those who are less fortunate. My life is filled with
opportunities to help others, why should I let them pass by?” Sultan Khan

He was consistently curious in the subject at hand, putting extraordinary effort into his
work. His curiosity to learn more than just what I was presenting in class stands out in my
mind, especially given that Mr. Khan was quieter than the average student. In particular, Mr.
Khan asked questions that related the biology to other scholastic subjects (such as chemistry)
and to items he had read in the newspaper or magazines. This indicated to me a creative,
intelligent mind that deserved to be both challenged and nurtured.” Carissa Weintraub-
    Biology teacher YVHS

“He always showed inspirational curiosity, astonishing effort, and breathtaking creativity
during work hours. My time with him has shown me he has great potential and is always
eager to learn more.” Katrina Miles- Store Manager Papa Murphy’s Pizza
